Centenary of the baralbine champagne festivals in the Aube

These parties were organized by the unified team of the leader of Baralbin, Gaston CHEQ. They are intended to officially celebrate the obtaining of the Champagne appellation for Aubois winegrowers. They are inspired by the Trojan hosiery festivals in Aube.

100 years ago: the origin of the festivities

Initially, Bar-sur-Aube launched hostilities on March 28, 1921. The parade then takes its source in the nearby wine villages. It then continues its journey to reach the town center of Bar-sur-Aube. Each commune has built one or more floats and highlights the queen of the village. The winegrowers hold up a sign to represent their village. This procession then continues towards Troyes, the Aube capital. This event took place in the joy and festive good humor of the Aube Champagne winegrowers. In order to encourage the creation of floats, the winegrowers organize a competition to reward the most beautiful floats.

The winegrowers organize this event but the whole population participates in it. The elected representatives of the territory, the events and musical organizations are obviously present. But also sports, military and religious associations among others.

This party was a great success. It brought together more than 15 spectators from all over the department. This event made it possible to firmly and vigorously reaffirm the combativeness of Aube winegrowers. During the parade, the signs displayed are there to confirm this.

Today:

Above all, they are an opportunity to pay homage to our ancestor winegrowers. We will also highlight the conviviality of our region and the Champagne terroir of barsuraubois.
